Most parents want to give their children
every opportunity to become happy, well-adjusted, successful adults. This is
why so many of us question the value of a Christian education when we have so
many quality public schools across the United States. You can be assured that
our public school system is served by many intelligent, well-qualified teachers
who are sincerely dedicated to helping children obtain a good education.
However, because our national constitution separates church and state, our
public school system is unable to allow their children to receive this quality
education while attaining valuable Christian habits. These habits, when started
early and practiced frequently, will aid and influence children throughout
their entire lifetime.
The opportunity to discuss religion is what sets a Christian school apart from all others. It is an integral part of the educational program that allows the Christian attitude to permeate in every aspect of every subject. Gloria Dei Lutheran School is an accredited Christian school that follows all of the Kentucky State guidelines and requirements in regards to curriculum and Teacher Certification. We also offer a variety of extra-curricular activities including sports, school spirit days, and specially coordinated events. We encourage family participation, providing ample opportunities for family members to visit and be an active part of our students’ educational experience. If you would like more information regarding the events for the 2008/2009 school year, please refer to the student event calendar found under the Activities link on our website (gdlschool.org).
There is a family bond that forms between those who are able to share and discuss their beliefs and prayers together, whether it is for a shared meal or for an individual student’s ailing loved one. It is our hope that you will take this into consideration while choosing the school that will best meet the needs of your child/ren and family.
I am available to meet with anyone who would like more detailed information about our program and/or a tour of our facility. If you would like to arrange a meeting, please contact the school office at (270) 769-5910.
Yours in Christ,
William Knea, Administrator
